Commercial design Forero House project

In our previous edition we talked about one of our residential projects, House Familia Peña, and we invite you to read it because we talked about everything related to the design, construction and all the experience we had during the process.

Today we will talk about a commercial design, where the designer in charge of the project Jaqueline Molina tells us the step by step of the Forero House project.

It is a project of an existing store, which is located in Panama where it was in a small store a few blocks from the current location, looking for the renovation of the store also changes its name from Michelle Forero to Forero House.

Forero House is a multi-brand store that includes the Michelle Forero brand and others.

Among the requirements that the client stated was that she wanted the store to be more sober with organic shapes, and to use a color palette with light tones in order to give more importance to each of her pieces, since the Michelle Forero brand is cataloged for being a clothing that uses a lot of color, so the color was treated with a palette between white tones so that the pieces were the attraction.

The house has an internal garden, enclosure of glass panels, it had an office enclosed in glass panels, in its entirety was redesigned, removing the glass panels to gain more internal space and 3 dressing rooms were added. It should be noted that this house was a residential - commercial house so it required some internal and external modifications, in this case in the facade, where a showcase was added, which was agreed with the client as it was another of the needs that the client had to expose the pieces of the brands. The showcase was located in the parking lot where there was a large and ideal area, we worked with lighting games as well as the colors that give personality to the store that are also used in the interior art.

Regarding the entrance, specifically the access door was changed in order to allow more natural light to enter, especially in the corridor that receives customers, being the important point where people walk through to reach the exhibition area of the store, in this same access there was a planter space which was expanded and landscaping work was done.

Something particular that during the design took us to analyze how to integrate that great hallway that being the point of reception and connection at the same time with the part of the exhibition, was integrated into the space is why it was decided to cover one of those walls with wood slatted veneer, to give it that touch of personality, and together we did all the work of lighting.

For the design we used part of the existing furniture in good condition and that went very well with everything that was being proposed, we used the same furniture that was used for the box which is in marble, was used to frame what would be the cash area, on one side of this area was planted what would be the deposit but as the corridor ran into it, it was decided to integrate the door with the same veneer that was being worked to hide what would be the door.

In the central area focused on the exhibition of the product, we worked on organic shapes, arches, floating shelves, where everything that is shoes, handbags and other accessories will be exhibited, for this area we used a washed finish which is a technique that is in trend and that ages very well, since over time it will continue to be a fashion.

In terms of furniture, they used most of what they had to continue with the identity of the store and at the same time lower the investment cost, in the interior design they worked on the lighting and integrated vegetation to make the space something unique and innovative.

The house in general lines was in good condition, the original floors of the house were left as it fit perfectly with the whole design, the design of the ceiling with the lights was kept but improving the quality of it.

The work done during the different stages of design with the client was very enriching because the client was clear about what she wanted, she shared with us a board on Pinterest where all her ideas were and how she imagined the space, in the first meeting of presentation of the project, she expressed immediately that it was exactly what she wanted, only some necessary adjustments were made but in general line was captured the need and what the client wanted to achieve in that space.

Each of the areas was optimized to the maximum in order to achieve the best use and vision of each of the spaces, and the interior design concept that was being given to the store.

After the meetings where the project was approved, we proceeded to the construction phase, which lasted approximately 2 months to open the store.
