Architects in Panama

Design of a Country House in the Anton Valley, Panama.

Hello today we want to share a special edition blog, to tell you about our experience in the architectural and interior design projects that the Grupo Ideas team has been doing.

In this edition we had a conversation with one of the people in charge of carrying out the design of the project called Casa Familia Peña, the designer Jaqueline Molina, she shared with us all the experiences that took this project and the results achieved in a step by step of each stage, the requirements of the family and the proposal presented.

“Jaqueline started by telling us that this project does not correspond to an interior design, but its focus is on architectural design”.

Giving us a brief overview of the location of the land in the town of Valle de Anton, Panama, whose population is rural, surrounded by forests and mountains, so it characterizes the area as quiet, the lot consists of 2400 m², so it is highly exploited for the construction of housing and green areas.

One of the main points expressed by the clients is that the house should be a country house, since it will be the retirement home for them and their family, where in the long term they can live at the time of their retirement and lead a quieter life.

Among other guidelines where we talked about the internal areas, the clients told us that their desire is to take advantage of the benefits that the area provides, that each area is well ventilated, fresh, and form a single environment internally, creating a family space where they are for living and sharing.

Jaqueline comments that it was a challenge for the Grupo Ideas team, because the style the client wanted was completely different from the style of modern architecture they are used to designing, but this is not a limiting factor for us, since our commitment is to make the client's dreams come true.

In the first stage of the project were presented 2 proposals, the first very similar to the form that was left at the end, it should be noted that the form never changed. The changes that were made were more in the style, the internal distribution was maintained, the modifications that were made were focused on the facade and the enclosure of the house because he wanted them country style.

“It was a challenging project for Grupo Ideas, since we wanted to meet the objectives that the clients expected for what will be their new home, while at the same time we as a firm did not lose our design line, which characterizes us as a design brand”.

During the process several team meetings were held with the clients, which we call creative sessions, where we presented the ideas and everything regarding zoning. On the part of the clients in each meeting there was good receptivity since they were comfortable with the work that was being developed, in the same meeting we defined what would be the areas and square meters that they required.

The work done with the family was very pleasant, we had a good communication all the time even though they already had their ideas very clear, they were very kind, respectful with the whole team, respecting our experience and the contribution we could give them as professionals, always in favor of what they were looking for.

Did the clients ask you for anything in particular during the design of the spaces?

Yes, there was a particular aspect, the clients wanted to have a skylight in their house, we studied each space and where was the right place to place it and we found that the terrace where the view to the green area of the house is located was the ideal place since it is the family meeting place.

Among the areas that the family wanted to have in their house are 3 bedrooms, 1 guest room, kitchen and living room in a single open space, the service area inside the house, a pantry, based on this information the design process was carried out. It should be noted that a possible location of a swimming pool was taken into account to be built in the future in a second stage. Another important point that was treated was the connection between the kitchen and the terrace through sliding doors, as well as the internal spaces designed to be enjoyed in the stage of old age.

During the deliveries, time was respected so that the clients could analyze if they were comfortable with what they were wearing, since the results were extremely important due to the sentimental value.

The interior design of the spaces was approached with some materials and design of the closets, the design of the bathrooms, the design of the pantry areas, looking for the comfort and utility of these spaces.

Both the clients and the Grupo Ideas team were pleased with all the results that were achieved.
